Welcome to Trumpland 2016

president trumpI have to admit I am surprised to some degree at how the election turned out. President Trump. Gives me a chill. I’ll have to get this off my chest now; I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again -I truly think many americans were just sold a bill of goods with no actual substance behind it. If you, middle america, were looking for a leader who saw you, who understood your plight and will take steps to make it better, Donald Trump conned you.

For the last several years President Obama has been trying to pass legislation to get infrastructure going – transportation, jobs, spending, etc. and the GOP (Congress) has been shooting it down basically because they didn’t want to tax big business and the rich to pay for it. (source, source) . Meanwhile, you and I pay for it. I am barely breaking even, I can’t afford it – can you ?

They have also been the ones to shoot down a minimum wage hike. This is the party that Trump represents. Please know this- I AM PARTY AGNOSTIC. I don’t care which party is in power as long as they do a good job for the people. I have to say that the GOP has not done a good job by you, by me, or anybody else but the rich and big business. I don’t know about you but my pay has been stagnate for the last several years, yet CEO’s have been making bonuses and ungodly amounts of money while you and I eek by paycheck to paycheck. Trump is not going to fix this. He has no reason to. He has never lived that way, nor has any of the other party members he is now working with.

I know he said he is an “outsider” but he isn’t, not really. I am not saying he is all bad, nobody is. Has he done some good, sure. But there is always more to the story and we owe it to ourselves to look past the shiny outside.  I know the message was good. He said he wants to go after Muslims because they’re the ones that bombed us. But it wasn’t all muslims. It was just a few. Just like all of us aren’t bad, just some. There are millions of people, muslims, just like you and I, who live day in and day out under the threat of violence. Some are poor, jobless, with no prospects in sight, just like you. I know, I know, they aren’t americans, they aren’t you or me, but they are people and they deserve the same decent living you and I have.

ObamaCare – The Affordable Care Act. This one aggravates me. Yeah, rates were going up, but guess what? Those without ObamaCare were seeing a rate hike too. Mine was going up 39% -It isn’t ObamaCare, it’s the money hungry insurance companies that treat our health like a profit margin. ObamaCare at least tried to get them to lower costs and provide insurance for people who couldn’t normally afford it. And guess what? When they started losing money because people in poor health were actually using healthcare to get treatment, they started to pull out, raise rates and cause a fuss. They don’t give a crap about your health and well being, they give a crap about your money. ObamaCare isn’t the problem, they are.

President- Elect Trump said he would make America great again. But he never said how. I can say all day long I’m going to do something but at the end of the day, it’s the how, what, and when that matters. Actions speak louder than words. I truly hope for all our sake, the actions that come are in our best interest.

I could go on, rehash point by point what he has said, what the GOP has said, but honestly, the point is moot.

I have to say I am disappointed. I am disheartened. I am dismayed. I am angry. I do hope those who voted for him are ready to hold him accountable and force him to make good. Force the members of Congress and the Senate to make good. Because if they don’t, we are going to be worse off then we were and we will live to regret this decision. And please, I can’t say this enough – look past your next choice and consider the outcome, your life could depend on it.

PS – watch this and think on it a bit
